Rockwell Pr. Program Manager
Job Responsibilities
Program manager position in Rockwell Collins Services, IFE Businesses assigned to airline services programs. Works with minimal direct supervision. Provides program status reviews to executive level on occasion.
o Builds strong and extensive working relationships internally and externally. External customer contacts are typically mid-level program management, engineering, maintenance and procurement agents.
o Has strong understanding of systems engineering concepts, manufacturing processes, decision point processes and engineering processes.
o May prepare contract renewal, pursuit and order capture strategies including most important requirements, competitive face-off, customer contact plans and related action planning. May lead pursuit team.
o Develops solutions to complex problems which require the use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives. Effects of decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of company resources. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
o Strong understanding of the industry and customer.
o Responsible for managing up to ten programs which are of moderate to high risk and high complexity. Typically responsible for program sales between $5-$10M
o Responsible for existing products, services and business. This includes managing obsolete parts, production and delivery, and customer support. Responsible for product and services roadmap for future product features / enhancements. May be assigned key strategic programs preparing and/or implementing new strategic initiatives.
o Plans, directs and monitors program budget and serves as primary customer contact for program information.. Has responsibility for profit / loss of the program.
o Responsible for program / business area growth. Responsible for program / business area P&L. o Ensures that all required resources such as engineering, engineering support, production, services, facilities and the like are available for the program. o Responsible for meeting program contract, budget and schedule. o May have supervisory responsibilities including hiring, firing, salary and performance management. o Has primary responsibility for program growth, may be responsible for marketing new technology or follow-on business. o Responsible for risk management of existing products and large complex development programs.
Experience
o Solid experience in International Airline flight and maintenance operations, marketing and purchasing department practices and expectations preferred.
o Experience collaborating with Flight Attendant departments in resolving issues and effective communication within the Airline preferred.
o Strong knowledge of FAA maintenance regulations and Airline regulatory practices preferred
o Proven success in exceeding goals through effectively leading peer internal and external support departments.
o Knowledge of the IFE industry including trends, historical practices, current and future technology and industry standard measurements preferred.
o Experience in successfully collaborating with internal and external collective bargaining workforces preferred.
o Extensive experience building and presenting reports for individual executives and large internal or external customers.

Education - An MBA or equivalent is preferred.
Computer Skills
o Position requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
o Experience with using Microsoft Project and SAP are preferred.
Passport and ability to travel internationally required. 30% travel may be required

of related experience.
