Captain - A330

- We are currently seeking a A330 Captain for our Rockford, Illinois operations. These positions will be a minimum of a six (6) month contract.
- Candidates MUST have A330 Type Rating and a minimum of 1000-1500 hours to be considered. Please do not apply if you do not meet either as it is a requirement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reports directly to the Chief Pilot and is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of the flight assignment.
- Determines that he/she is adequately rested and in proper dress.
- Prepares or supervises preparation of flight plans, considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, cruise control data, airport facilities and navigational aids.
- Inspects or supervises pre-flight inspection of the aircraft for mechanical and structural soundness, plus proper operation of communications and navigational equipment.
- Responsible for loading and distributing of cargo and passengers. Determines that weight and balance are within prescribed limitations. Fills out Company manifests and assures that copies of the manifest are delivered to the Chief Pilot for filing.
- Ensures cargo is properly secured and emergency equipment, such as life rafts, life vests and emergency briefing cards are aboard the aircraft.
- Ensures the preparation of flight logs, reporting of mechanical irregularities and recording of maintenance by Maintenance personnel when maintenance is performed enroute.
- He/She may delegate functions to other personnel, but retains responsibility.
- He/She must be highly knowledgeable of and comply with the Company Operations Manual, FAA Regulations, Operations Specifications, flight manuals, etc., and other instructions pertinent to his/her duties.
- He/She will assure that all reports that are to go to the FAA are submitted to the Chief Pilot, who will then submit them to the Vice President of Operations for forwarding to the FAA.
- He/She will assure that he/she is current with proper training and is not exceeding any FAR required rest, time or duty requirements.
- He/She must have in his/her possession all required and current documents, such as certificate, medical, passport.
- The Captain will be jointly responsible with the Chief Pilot for all flights to which he/she is assigned.
- The Captain will conduct all flights in a safe and professional manner. At no time will he/she relinquish such authority to any other person. It will be the responsibility of the Captain to brief all Crewmembers before each flight as to the nature of the flight. At no time will the Captain allow anyone other than an authorized Crewmember to manipulate the controls of the aircraft.
- Except when acting as a Check Airman, the Captain of the Company aircraft shall occupy the left pilot seat which affords him/her the most direct view of the basic flight and navigational instruments with minimal deviation from his/her normal position and line-of-sight when he/she is looking along the flight path.
- The Captain will file all reports required by the Company Operations Manual and advisories of Company policy.
- The Captain has full command of the aircraft and crew until the aircraft safely lands at the destination. He/She will ensure that no Pilot may operate the aircraft in a careless or reckless manner, so as to endanger life or property. If an emergency arises whereby the Captain is incapacitated due to illness, injury or worse, the IRO or FO, as appropriate, will assume authority until the aircraft arrives safely at the destination airport. In the event of a crash, the same procedure will follow as above, until rescued. If both Pilots are incapacitated, the Flight Engineer will be in command until rescued.
- (1544.214) The PIC of each passenger flight is designated as the In-Flight Security Coordinator (ISC). The ISC will: 1) Review with the Ground Security Coordinator (GSC) any pertinent information for the specific flight(s). 2) Prior to beginning the flight (or series of flights) with a particular Crew, brief that Crew on the specific manner in which the ISC wants In-Flight incidents handled. 3) Prior to any flight segment, brief the Crew on any significant irregularities or occurrences that may affect the security of the flight. 4) On completion of a flight (or series of flights), or a ground turnback, report any significant incidents or occurrences to the Company using one or an appropriate combination of the following: a) Line Report b) Verbal report to appropriate official/department. 5)Sign and retain with flight paperwork all required Security checklists and documents.
