Responsibilities

The project deployment technician will work as part of a project team dedicated to hardware replacement. Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing project tasks on schedule and by interacting with members of the team.  Interaction with contributors from other project teams will be an element of this position. Perform installation and refresh activities as scheduled according to project plan and directions. Install and configure servers, desktops and laptops according to directions. Install and configure network routers, switches and access points according to directions. Follow documented procedures and use proper forms. Perform services onsite at Customer locations in the US and internationally.

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills and team attitude. Three or more years of field service experience troubleshooting, configuring and installing servers, desktops and laptops. Maintain knowledge of Customer security policies and technical standards. Knowledgeable using MS Office 2007, including MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project. Experience in maintaining SharePoint site documents. Experience with or willing to learn how to use Service Center change ticket system. Strong verbal skills with ability to interact with internal customers during deployments. Deployment tools experience. Technical writing skills. Understands technical language. Willing to follow instructions. Willing to travel most of the deployment time including travel abroad.  Must have proper travel documentation. Must be willing to lift 27LB at least 5FT as needed. Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship. Please be advised: This job requires working in an area covered by the City of Houston Ordinance Against Smoking - City Code Chapter 21.
