Responsibilities

Teach Formal Aircraft Systems Classes including Avionic/Electrical and Airframe/Powerplant subjects. Develop training materials for formal aircraft system classes, on-the-job training (OJT), computer based training (CBT), etc. Aircraft systems OJT training. Aircraft Taxi/Engine run training. Technical Operations policies, procedures and paperwork training. New station open-up training. Aircraft maintenance vendor and/or agency personnel training.

Qualifications

FAA A&P (Federal Aviation Administration Airframe & Powerplant) certificate required. Must have a high school diploma/GED (General Education Development) or equivalent. Some college preferred. FAA FCC certificate preferred. Knowledge of FAA-H-8083-9 (Aviation Instructor's Handbood) required. Strong basic computer abilities required including Word and PowerPoint applications. Experience in facilitating material/knowledge to students. Course development experience required. Ability to observe and determine the learning/performance level of the student. Ability to create course syllabi. Ability to write/produce training material. Proficient public speaker. Strong technical and narrative writing talent. Ten years of FAR part 121 Transportation Category aircraft experience (preferred). Two years of classroom instructing (recommended). Travel required at least 50% of the time. Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship. lease be advised: This job requires working in an area covered by the City of Houston Ordinance Against Smoking - City Code Chapter 21.
