Responsibilities
We are looking for energetic individuals with the desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment as Financial Analyst Interns in the Financial Planning & Analysis Division of Continental Airlines. This division consists of several operations finance groups as well as separate planning and analysis groups. Projects may include the following: Provide internal financial consulting and analytical support to senior management on both strategic and tactical decisions. Conduct research and analysis of profit improvement initiatives involving revenue generating and/or cost-saving opportunities. Evaluate airline operations to identify opportunities for performance and productivity improvement. Perform various ad-hoc projects and/or transaction analysis that may include present value calculations, tax treatment assessment, and financial performance impact analysis.
Qualifications
Completion of junior year in an accredited business or accounting program by May 2011. Superior quantitative and analytical skills. Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving ability. Detail-oriented and fast learner who can work well with others in a team environment. Ability to manage and prioritize work on multiple projects. Ability to solve multi-dimensional problems and make clear and concise recommendations. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work in fast-paced environment requiring solid, factual decision making ability. Experience with computer systems (Microsoft Office Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word). Willing to pay for your own housing while doing a summer internship in either Houston or Chicago. Must be willing to relocate to either the Houston or Chicago area at your own expense. Must be willing to pay for your own housing while in either Houston or Chicago. Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.
