Responsibilities

Duties include receiving, binning, issuing, and shipping material located in stockrooms and warehouses. Duties include extensive computer data entry; packaging and shipping aircraft parts and non-aircraft parts; preparation of documents to support shipments including dangerous goods (restricted articles), customs documentation, airbills, etc,; performing perpetual inventories and audits; building parts kits and other warehouse related duties. Maybe required to operate various ramp and warehousing equipment such as forklifts, tugs, delivery carts, trucks, etc. Material Specialist are responsible for signing for their own work.

Qualifications

High School diploma/GED or equivalent required. Two years of college or equivalent military or vocational experience preferred. Must be able to successfully complete the Dangerous Goods Training Program and Material Services Training Manual within the initial 180 day probationary period. The basic qualifications include the ability to speak, read and write the English language. Valid US driver's license (revoked, suspended or expired is not considered valid). Must pass 10-year background check, drug screen and physical. Must be able to work any shift in a 24/7 operation, including nights weekends and holidays. Candidate must be able to clear a fingerprint-based criminal history check in order to obtain and retain credentials necessary for the position. Position-specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal service clearances. Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship. *SAJ*
