Responsibilities

Create and maintain identity and brand designs. Ensure online customer touch points become and remain consistent with Continental’s brand marketing standards. Conceptualize and create brand-consistent, easy-to-use, attractive and meaningful user interfaces (and other design deliverables: layouts/UIs, widgets, patterns, color palettes, typography, iconography and user interface elements) for use on the web. Translate conceptual ideas into engaging visual presentations and design solutions. Communicate design thinking in a way that works for all the parties involved (engineers, product managers, partners, etc.) through appropriately detailed specifications and reviews. Work with a multi-disciplinary team of interaction designers, visual designers, user researchers and copywriters committed to developing innovative, easy-to- use, best-of-breed new products and overhauling existing ones. Ensure that the UI layer is lucid, communicates visual hierarchy and represents the brand in ways that appeal to the end user.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years professional design experience. Minimum of 5 years experience as a member of a user experience team. Experience working within brand guidelines. Proficient to expert in:  Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign Good natured, self-motivated, flexible and mature. Knowledge and experience with the creative design and production process. Solid skills in graphic design, visual design, images, interactivity, motion impact design, an excellent eye for typography, clean layout, purposeful color, and a fanatical attention to detail down to the pixel. Experience providing detailed design specs for use by technology/engineering teams. Experience resolving design challenges as a team rather than designing/presenting solutions as an individual. Thorough understanding of overall web site design, including basic usability, industry standards, architecture and navigation. Working knowledge and understanding of current web standards and user interface design and principles. Ability and desire to mentor and lead junior designers. Ability to effectively communicate design ideas and respond quickly to business needs. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting strict deadlines. High production values trong quality assurance. Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.
