Responsibilities

Responsible for the daily shift management and safety of all terminal operations activities and personnel in assigned work area. Strong coaching/counseling skills required to keep team members motivated. The operational duties of this position include but are not limited to the following: Prepares and manages daily manpower, preplans based on staffing requirements, manages overtime, communicates with contract services, uses threat and error management, conducts incident analysis, and provides coaching and counseling to insure success of direct reports The administrative duties of this position include but are not limited to the following: Manages baggage delivery, online and interline connecting baggage, baggage makeup, ramp operations, operations planning, and coordinates with Airport Ticket Office (ATO) and Newark Operations Communications Center  (NOCC) to insure a positive customer experience.  

Qualifications

Minimum of five (5) years of operations experience in airport operations required. Knowledge of hub operations preferred.  Bachelor's degree preferred. Combination of education and work experience accepted. Strong communication skills are required (oral as well as written). Solid working knowledge of corporate policies and procedures. Strong supervisory and leadership skills required. Sound understanding of system control, flight schedules, and aircraft routing. Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and SONIC. Must be flexible to work any shift in a 24 hour period including holidays and weekends. Must have a valid drivers license. Must be a team player. Candidate must be able to clear a fingerprint-based criminal history check in order to obtain and retain credentials necessary for the position. Position-specific clearances include but are not limited to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Port Authority, United States (U.S.) Customs and U.S. Postal service clearances. Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.
